Our school follows the Department of Education’s Enrolment Policy for the enrolment, placement, and transfer of students.
Students who live within the school zone are guaranteed a place at our school. To find out whether you live in zone, visit findmyschool.vic.gov.au
All other applications will be considered subject to available space, and prioritised according to:
1. students with a sibling at the same permanent address who are attending the school at the same time
2. all other students in order of closeness of their home to the school.

Foundation students for the next school year undertake a series of three Transition days each year. Dates can be obtained from the school office on the aforementioned phone number.
The three transition days follow the below format:
Day One = one hour for students in class time, 9.30-10.30am. An information session is provided for parents in the staffroom.
Day Two = 90 minute session for students in class time, 9.30-11:00 am. Parents are invited to remain at the school in the staffroom to enjoy morning tea, with information presented on learning and wellbeing at Miners Rest Primary School.
Day Three = usually aligned with the National Transition Day for all schools, i.e., early December. Three hour visit, 9.30-12.30. Students attend their confirmed class for the following year, meet their teacher and classmates, as well as become familiar with their learning environment for the following year. Parents attend a presentation from the Principal for approximately one hour on the operations of the school, and key information for the following year, before enjoying morning tea provided by our PFA.
When enrolling new students, parents are asked to bring some type of proof of the age of the child with them, e.g. Birth Certificate and their current Immunisation Record, easily obtained from your MyGov account.
Students transferring from other schools to Miners Rest Primary School, should bring with them a copy of reports from the previous school. The previous school will be contacted to provide information which may assist us in helping your child settle in at our school.
